According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan the need for greater use of advanced foreign technologies for opening and development mining with involvement of specialized foreign engineering companies in design works was determined. The Combinat and Uzgeorangmetliti Design Institute specialists visited leading foreign enterprises to study advanced foreign technologies in underground mining of similar deposits. After that NMMC specialists in cooperation with the Institute experts approved absolutely new for the Combinat method of deposit development with inclined mining shaft using self-propelled machinery.

NMMC and ATLAS COPCO signed a contract for delivery of drilling and tunneling machines manufactured by ATLAS COPCO. The ramp is the major 780m horizontal opening and designed for drawing onto surface the mined rock up to 800.0 tons per year. The mined rock is transported by mine dump trucks MT-431B.
The ramp is built with involvement of self-propelled drilling, load-haul-dump and transport equipment with diesel engines. This equipment mechanizes the major labour-intensive operations of sinking cycle.
On Zarmitan mine self-propelled transport with diesel engines of foreign companies “Atlas Copco” (Sweden) and “Sandvik” (Finland) is used for underground mining.
An essential requirement to underground mining machinery and equipment is ensuring of complete supply of the equipment providing performance of full cycle of interrelated complex of tunneling works.
