Gold production
In NMMC, gold mining is carried out at mines and quarries, as well as underground mines in Central, Northern, Southern mining administrations and Mining administration “HMP-1”.
In Central mining administration:
- “Muruntau” mine
- “Unit of heap leaching of gold” mine
- “Auminzo-Amantoy” mine
In Northern mining administration:
- “Eastern” mine
- “Daugyztau” mine
In Southern mining administration:
- “Zarmitan” mine
- “Guzhumsay” mine
- “Marjanbulak” mine
In Mining administration “HMP-1”:
- “Aristantau” mine
The mined gold-bearing ore is processed
at hydrometallurgical plants:
- Hydrometallurgical plant №2 (HMP-2) in Central mining administration
- Hydrometallurgical plant №7 (HMP-7) in Central mining administration
- Hydrometallurgical plant №3 (HMP-3) in Northern mining administration
- Hydrometallurgical plant №4 (HMP-4) in Southern mining administration
- Hydrometallurgical plant №1 (HMP-1) in Mining administration “HMP-1”
There are gradually being implemented large investment projects, aimed at both the construction of new capacities for the extraction and processing of gold ore, and the expansion, reconstruction, and technical re-equipment of existing hydrometallurgical plants in production units of NMMC.
The plant’s the largest and leading hydrometallurgical plant in terms of production indicators is HMP-2. At this enterprise, technological processes are carried out from grinding ore containing precious metals to obtaining finished products in the form of high-quality cast gold. In 2020, as part of an investment project to expand the processing capacities of HMP-2 there were put into operation mill blocks №29, 30 and a high-tech complex for the production of gold and silver measured ingots on the basis of the existing finished products unit.
HMP-7 is another large enterprise of the plant. Its difference from other the plant’s hydrometallurgical plants is that, thanks to the technologies used here, it is possible to process and obtain products from processed ore (technogenic waste). In 2020, within the framework of the first and second stages of the investment project to increase the capacity of HMP-7, 4 mill blocks were put into operation. When the plant is launched at full capacity, it will process 15 million tons of industrial waste per year. As part of the first and the second stages of the investment project to increase the capacities of HMP-7 there were put into operation four mill blocks. When plant will be launched at full capacity, it will process 15 million tons of industrial waste per year.
In 2019, there was put into operation the high-tech complex – filtration, drying and roasting unit at HMP-3. This complex, built in cooperation with the German company Engineering Dobersek, is aimed at further improving the technology for processing gold sulfide ores from the Kokpatas and Daugyztau deposits. Thanks to its advanced engineering and technical solutions, the level of technological equipment, the complex has no analogues in the world.
In 2017, there was began the implementation of an investment project for the construction of Hydrometallurgical plant №5 on the basis of “Auminzo-Amantoy” mine. Today, construction work continues at this facility. After putting into operation of the first stage of plant, it is planned to process 2 million tons of sulfide ore per year. After the full launch of the enterprise, HMP-5 will process 5 million tons of ore per year.
In 2019, the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) awarded Navoi mining and metallurgical combinat the certificate confirming the successful completion of the next tests for full compliance with market requirements.
In 2017, for the first time in the history of mining and metallurgical industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specialists of NMMC were awarded the Gold medal of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of the United Nations for the development and implementation of the “Method for extracting gold from refractory sulfide gold-arsenic ores”.
In 2017, NMMC was honored with the European Society for Quality Research award in the gold category for its outstanding commitment, assistance and efforts in maintaining and improving achievements in quality management.
