Kuvandik S. Sanakulov was born in Samarkand
region in 1957. He graduated from the Tashkent
Polytechnic Institute. His speciality is
metallurgy of nonferrous metals.
During the period of his work as metallurgical
engineer he obtained comprehensive production
and life experience. He began his time record in
1979 as smelter, shift foreman in the
Choruh-Dayron Mining Administration in
Tajikistan. Afterwards, at Marjonbulak gold mine
in Jizah region he made his professional career
from Production Foreman, Senior Foreman, Chief
Process Engineer and Head of the Specialized
Scientific and Research Laboratory to the Chief
Engineer of the mine. Later he took up a
position of the Chief Process Engineer at the
“Uzbekgold” production association, then the
Senior Specialist on crude ore enrichment,
Manager of the Metallurgy, Enrichment and
Refining Department at the State Committee on
Precious Metals of Uzbekistan, Senior Specialist
on chemistry and metallurgy development at the
Industrial Development Complex of the Cabinet of
Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the
mayor of Galla-Aral district in Jizah region.
Upon postgraduate studying at the Kiev Institute
of Chemistry and Water Chemistry named after
Dumansky he successfully defended a Candidate's
Degree dissertation on “Development of
biocolloid technology for neutralization of
cyanides in tail slurry of the Gold Extraction
Plants”.
Since 1999 Kuvandik S. Sanakulov had been
working at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical
Combinat as Production Director, then Technical
Director and Vice-chairman of the Board of
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combinat,
public corporation. In 2003 he was elected as
Chairman of the Board.
Kuvandik S. Sanakulov is a master of
technological processes of diversified
production. Under his direction a long-term
program for technical modernization and
development of the Combinat was worked out,
which is currently being implemented.
At each stage of his professional activity
Kuvandik S. Sanakulov increased the level of
exactingness to himself, he did not spare
himself and steadily advanced.
In 2007 Kuvandik S. Sanakulov was appointed to
the position of Deputy Prime Minister of the
Republic of Uzbekistan, where he showed his
valuable virtues and merits: strong committal to
the cause, high efficiency and awareness and
high managerial competence. It was he who held
enterprises of metallurgical and mining
industries under his control.
Kuvandik S. Sanakulov is a member of
Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of
Uzbekistan, Candidate of Technical Science,
Holder of an Order of Friendship (Order of
Dustlik).
As per Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the
Republic of Uzbekistan as of June 10, 2008
Kuvandik S. Sanakulov was appointed to the
position of the Director General of the Navoi
Mining and Metallurgical Combinat.
