New technologies are being introduced at HMP-3

The team of Hydrometallurgical plant-3 ends 2021 with good economic and production indicators.

During the first 13 years from the date of putting into operation, only oxide ore was processed at the enterprise. In connection with the decrease of oxide ore reserves, in 2008 the plant began processing sulphide ore based on the BIOX technology. Three years later, the second stage of this complex was launched.

The specialists of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company have developed  new and unique technology that allows the processing of refractory sulfide ores and extraction of additional gold from them. The introduction of this patented technology into industrial production has led to increase in the efficiency of raw materials use by 18% and the output of finished products by 17%.

To date, in order to increase the productivity of the Filtration, drying and doasting unit, as well as for the complete and high-quality extraction of gold from sorption waste in laboratory conditions, appropriate studies have been carried out. The results of laboratory analyzes made it possible to extract gold associated with iron oxides and hydroxides using acid treatment. The plant’s specialists carried out research on the application of the analysis results in production and developed a new technological scheme for acid treatment of fired products.

The use of this innovation in production as a result of research by the plant’s specialists led to increase in gold recovery from roasted products by 3% and, ultimately, to an increase in the production of finished products at HMP-3. Such promising projects are of particular importance in the development of the republic’s economy.
