To mark the International Day of Women in Mining, the annual meeting of the International Day of Women in Mining (IDWIM) was held in an online format. During the event, Rano Kosimova, Head of the Organizational Development Department at Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company, was appointed as an IWIM Global Ambassador for the 2025–2026.

Having joined IWiM as a partner in 2024, NMMC reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of inclusivity and sustainable development. The company has been actively working to adapt leading international practices to the local industrial and cultural context.

Among the company’s key initiatives are regular field visits to gather feedback, the active leadership of our Women’s Committee. A major milestone has been the launch of the “Voices of Women in Metallurgy” platform within the framework of the Uzbekistan International Mining Forum (UIMF). This platform fosters networking and idea-sharing that is building momentum and hope.

In her speech at the International Day of Women in Mining, Rano Kosimova emphasized:

“Central Asian women's voices are increasingly influential globally, especially in sustainability, inclusion and leadership and we are proud to contribute. As an IWIM Ambassador, our mission is to connect Central Asia with the international Women in Mining movement; together, we can shape a future where women collaborate, inspire and transform our industry.”
