As part of the ongoing partnership between Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Company JSC (NMMC) and the International Women in Mining movement (IWIM), an online meeting was held bringing together NMMC specialists and representatives of the global network.

The meeting served as an important platform for the exchange of expertise on advancing women’s participation in the mining sector - a key pillar of building an inclusive corporate culture. Participants reviewed the progress made since the launch of the NMMC–IWIM partnership in 2024 and discussed emerging priorities for collaboration in 2026.

During the discussion, participants highlighted that one of NMMC’s strategic priorities in the areas of gender equality and inclusion is the development of women’s professional competencies, expanding access to international training programs and strengthening engagement with global professional communities. Special attention was given to opportunities for deepening knowledge exchange with IWIM partners and learning from leading international practices.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the NMMC–IWIM partnership and agreed on the key areas of joint work for the year ahead. NMMC will continue to advance initiatives focused on gender equality, leadership development, and professional growth reinforcing its role in the global movement supporting women in mining and contributing to the company’s broader sustainability agenda.
