Enhancing productivity, optimizing maintenance processes and adopting modern technologies remain top priorities across our hydrometallurgical plants. A particular focus is placed on first-stage grinding mills, whose performance, reliability and predictive maintenance capabilities directly impact overall plant output.

At Hydrometallurgical Plant No.3 (HMP-3) the recent major overhaul of ore-processing mills introduced advanced equipment, resulting in significant operational improvements. One standout innovation is the Thunderbolt 750 SP hydraulic hammer, a powerful tool that accelerates the replacement of heavy metallic liners inside the mill drums, ensuring both speed and safety in the process.

Previously, liner replacement was a manual, labor-intensive operation, involving gas cutting and heavy tools, consuming substantial time and resources. With the new hydraulic methodology, mill downtime during overhauls has been reduced to just two days, enabling mills to process more ore and reduce production costs. The same equipment is also deployed at HMP-5, demonstrating scalability across the company’s operations.

These achievements highlight NMMC’s operational excellence and underscore our commitment to modern, efficient and safe technological solutions.
