The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has set an urgent task to plant 200 million seedlings of trees and shrubs per year and increase the greening of cities from the current 8% to 30% within the framework of the national project “Yashil makon” (“Green Space”). Therefore, at the initiative of the head of state in our country until December 10 of this year, “Urgent 40 days” were announced.

In order to make a significant contribution to the national project “Yashil makon” (“Green Space”), implemented as part of this event, NMMC has outlined an action plan for planting seedlings of trees and shrubs. According to this plan, in the near future 100 thousand seedlings of fruit and ornamental trees will be planted on 122.7 hectares of land.

At present, active practical work is being carried out on the basis of this project. According to the Department of corporate social responsibility of NMMC, to date, more than 20 thousand seedlings of fruit and ornamental trees have been planted. Employees of NMMC’s divisions and territorial departments of the State Organisation “NMMC Fund” take an active part in this good deed.

During the planting process, special attention is paid to the soil and climatic conditions of the region. Considering the care of seedlings using drip irrigation technology, decorative and fruit trees were selected, such as mulberry, elm, ailanth, ash, saxaul, elm, dzhida, which do not require excess water.
