Main Activities

On the 1st of October, 1991 upon the decision of the Government of Uzbekistan on the basis of State Company NMMC the state concern "Kizilkumredmetzoloto" was formed, which included construction, assemblage, starting-up, design and research organizations.

NMMC being a multi-industry company has the developed industrial and social infrastructure, rich technological and personnel potential (about 60 thousand employees work at its enterprises) and increases production of gold (due to HMP-2 reconstruction and bringing it to 26 million tons per year of ore processing volumes and construction of HMP-3 second line) and uranium by means of increasing its extraction at the acting enterprises and newly established plants. Furthermore, thanks to putting into operation of the first line and organization of the second line construction of the phosphorite plant the Combinat successfully participates in the implementation of the Government Program on creation of the country’s own industry for extraction and production of fertilizers for agricultural purposes not only for domestic needs but also for export.

For the years of independence, thanks to the opened possibilities of carrying out reconstruction of the acting enterprises and constructions of the new ones, all productions of NMMC were updated and equipped with advanced mining, intra-quarry, digger-transport, metallurgical, drilling, exploration, construction, machine-building, metal-cutting and analytical equipment of both domestic and foreign production. These productions possess qualitative computer facilities, instrumentation and control equipment, computer technologies for deposit design and exploitation, methods of product quality control not having analogues in the world, advanced technologies of gold and uranium production, metal-cutting production, sulfuric acid, jewellery, knitted and textile items, facing slabs from decorative stone.

All this allow NMMC to ensure highly effective production at the world standards level and by the quality of manufactured goods it often surpasses this level. Thus, the produced gold fineness is guaranteed with four nine (999.9). Gold bullions produced by NMMC have been awarded as “good delivery gold” by the Arbitration laboratory of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). This means that in LBMA the trademark of the Republic of Uzbekistan is registered on gold bullions produced by NMMC and the laboratory of quality control has been successfully examined on technical competence by LBMA Arbitration laboratory in London. Uranium production quality (triuranium octoxide) by many characteristics is considerably higher than the world requirements.

The Combinat objects of social and industrial infrastructure occupy many hundreds square kilometres where among the desert sands you can see flourishing oases with spacious parks, gardens, pools and fountains. There are representatives of about fifty nationalities who live and work here: Russian, Uzbek, Ukrainian, Tatar, Bashkir, Tadjik, Kazakh, etc.

The Combinat objects are located on the bigger part of Uzbekistan plain territory between two rivers the Amu Darya and the Syr-Darya (Kizilkum desert).
