Advanced design radial thickener is developed and successfully introduced in the hydrometallurgical plants of NMMC.
These improvements mainly relate to the ring chamber of flocculants formation. Performance improvement and reduction of flocculant consumption are achieved due to its effective use, and the design of this device is quite simple at that. The ring channel is equipped with exit branches and lamels. Some of exit branches are located at the bottom of flocculant forming chamber, and the rest of exit branches are located at the bottom of chamber shell and directed to the thickener periphery.
The positive effect of introduction of technology is a considerable reduction of flocculant consumption along with simultaneous performance improvement of the thickener.
