Major industrial milestones rarely happen overnight. They are the result of years of planning, engineering expertise and the coordinated efforts of thousands of people. At NMMC's Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 2, that long-term investment continues to deliver tangible results.

The commissioning of the plant's second phase, together with the launch of grinding mill units No. 33, 34 and 35, has increased the total number of mills to 82 and expanded annual ore processing capacity to nearly 56 million tonnes. Today, more than 163,000 tonnes of ore are processed every day, supported by automated control systems designed to ensure stable and efficient operations across the production cycle.

The modernization programme has also expanded sorption and thickening capacity, upgraded key infrastructure and included the reconstruction of Pumping Station No. 16. Much of the equipment and spare parts required for these projects have been manufactured by NMMC's own machine-building and repair facilities, reflecting the company's growing engineering expertise and local industrial capabilities.

For NMMC, expanding production capacity is not a one-time milestone, but a continuous process of strengthening engineering capability, local manufacturing, technology adoption and operational efficiency across the entire production system.
