On 24 September, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company hosted a press tour at the Navoi Machine-Building Plant, offering journalists a closer view of how localization is being developed across NMMC’s operations.

The programme included a visit to the Centre for Localization and Innovation in Production, established jointly with Navoi State University of Mining and Technologies, as well as several major production shops.

More than 3,500 specialists work at the Navoi Machine-Building Plant. The plant has been expanding its capabilities to manufacture and maintain equipment used across NMMC’s hydrometallurgical operations.

Key figures from the localization programme:
• 103 projects — more than UZS 1.1 trillion of localized products manufactured in 2025;
• 123 projects — more than UZS 1.8 trillion of localized production planned for 2026;
• 980 tonnes — maximum mill weight the mechanical assembly shop can manufacture and repair;
• 400 tonnes — maximum weight of large-scale equipment the plant can process;
• 35,000 tonnes — annual metal melting capacity of the foundry following modernization.

The press tour also provided an opportunity to see the scale of the plant’s operations and the technologies being introduced, while meeting the specialists directly involved in production. For NMMC, this kind of direct engagement is an important part of maintaining open and transparent communication about the company’s operations and development.

Localization is closely linked to NMMC’s operational efficiency and long-term business resilience. Developing local engineering and manufacturing capabilities provides greater flexibility in equipment supply, supports timely maintenance and modernization, and helps the company respond more efficiently to the needs of its expanding operations. Over time, this strengthens operational continuity and supports the financial sustainability of the business.
