In recent years, the Foundry Shop of the Navoi Machine-Building Plant has undertaken large-scale efforts to increase the production capacity of cast components for ball mills, mining and underground equipment used across the divisions of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company.

The plant’s young and highly qualified specialists continue to develop and implement new technical solutions and improvement initiatives to support the enterprise’s further development. One of the practical outcomes of this work has been the modernization of the melting furnace currently operated at the Foundry Shop, increasing its capacity from 6 to 10 tonnes. As part of the upgrade project, the furnace underwent modifications to its design and dimensions, enabling its capacity to be expanded to 10 tonnes within a short timeframe.

“This initiative represents another important step toward the efficient utilization of internal production capabilities, as well as increasing both the output and quality of manufactured products. Optimization of the furnace’s technical parameters has created an opportunity to additionally produce up to 3,000 tonnes of cast products annually and to expand production capabilities beyond steel and cast iron to include ferroalloys. Furthermore, relocation of the furnace to a separate production area made it possible to increase the moulding space for castings, thereby resolving issues related to the timely moulding of large-scale cast components”, said Zafar Bobodustov, Head of the Foundry Shop.

Today, a ceremonial event was held at the Navoi Machine-Building Plant to mark the commissioning of the modernized melting furnace. The event was attended by K. Sanakulov, General Director of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company, as well as specialists and managers from both the company and the plant.

During the event, the company’s management expressed strong support for initiatives and improvement proposals aimed at meeting production needs, enhancing operational efficiency, and strengthening the enterprise’s industrial capabilities. Further development and modernization plans were also discussed.
