At NMMC, one recent engineering solution came from Bekzod Atabaev, Chief Power Engineer at Kyzylkum Mining Administration, who developed an approach to using drainage and pit water from the Pistali mine in technological processes at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 6.

At NMMC, practical engineering solutions developed directly within operations continue to support production efficiency and more effective resource management.

To encourage this approach, the Company maintains programs that support employee-led technical initiatives and internal innovation, including the annual Best Innovation Proposal competition.

This year, the competition brought together 281 participants who submitted 257 proposals across geology, mining, gold recovery technologies, mechanics, energy, transport, production automation, information technologies, industrial safety, and environmental management.

Bekzod Atabaev’s proposal focused on improving water utilization under real operating conditions.

The implemented solution includes:
• collection of drainage and pit water at the Pistali mine;
• transfer through dedicated infrastructure and pumping systems;
• storage in reservoirs with a total capacity of 10,000 m³;
• integration into technological processes at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 6 together with technical water supply.

Additional drainage wells and regulated pumping systems help maintain a more stable and controlled water management process across the operation.

Projects like this reflect how engineering expertise and operational knowledge can generate practical improvements directly at production sites.
