The international GEOMIN 2026 conference is taking place in Tashkent from 14 to 17 September, bringing together representatives of the mining, geological and mineral resources sectors from around the world. The event is organised by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).

The main theme of this year’s conference is “Advancing Mineral Exploration through Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation.” The event brings together representatives of more than 70 organisations from 26 countries and features over 100 presentations, 25 technical sessions and three high-level panel discussions. Representatives of Navoiy Mining and Metallurgical Company (NMMC) are also taking part in the conference.

The programme focuses on new approaches to mineral exploration and discovery, technological developments, professional knowledge exchange and opportunities to strengthen cooperation among government institutions, geological services, industry, academia and technology companies.

Particular attention is being paid to critical and strategic minerals, the application of artificial intelligence, advanced data analytics and digital platforms in mineral exploration, the development of geophysical exploration methods and geological modelling, as well as the investment potential of prospective mineral resource regions.

The conference also addresses the sustainable development of natural resources, environmental and social responsibility, the implementation of ESG principles and modern approaches to responsible mining.

Holding GEOMIN 2026 in Uzbekistan brings this international platform to Central Asia for the first time, providing an opportunity to showcase the country’s geological potential, prospects for developing critical and strategic mineral resources, and new opportunities for international technology and investment partnerships.
