As previously reported, the international GEOMIN 2026 conference is taking place in Tashkent from 14 to 17 September, bringing together representatives of the mining, geological and mineral resources sectors from around the world. The event is organised by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). Representatives of Navoiy Mining and Metallurgical Company (NMMC) are also taking part in the conference.

Maksim Khasanov, Deputy Head of the Information and Communications Technology Department, spoke about the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies and presented the Company’s practical experience in applying AI solutions across both operational and corporate processes.

The presentation highlighted that NMMC’s AI portfolio currently comprises approximately 30 application areas, covering geology, mining operations, mineral processing and metallurgy, maintenance and repair, and industrial safety. Artificial intelligence technologies are also being applied across corporate functions, including materials demand forecasting, procurement analytics, contract risk assessment and human resources management.

The solutions presented at GEOMIN Uzbekistan 2026 demonstrate NMMC’s transition from individual AI projects towards an integrated digital ecosystem that brings together operational, geological, laboratory and corporate data.

NMMC continues to expand the application of artificial intelligence as a practical tool for improving operational efficiency, equipment reliability and industrial safety, while strengthening the quality of management decision-making.
