Representatives of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company JSC (NMMC) participated in an online workshop organized by UN Women in cooperation with the Global Compact Network Central Asia.

Participation in the workshop forms part of the Company’s ongoing engagement following its accession to the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), providing access to international learning programmes, expert knowledge, and a global network of partners committed to advancing sustainable development.

The workshop focused on the legislative framework governing gender equality and labour relations across Central Asian countries, including the Republic of Uzbekistan. Participants explored national legal frameworks, international approaches to promoting equal opportunities, and practical case studies on fostering inclusive workplaces. The workshop also provided an open platform for professional dialogue, featuring discussions of real-world case studies and interactive Q&A sessions with subject-matter experts.

NMMC reaffirms its commitment to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and continues to strengthen its corporate practices in the areas of human rights, equal opportunities, non-discrimination, and the development of an inclusive corporate culture in line with internationally recognized sustainability standards.

In 2025, NMMC joined the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.

The UN Global Compact brings together companies worldwide that voluntarily commit to aligning their strategies and operations with its Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption, while advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through responsible business practices.
